AI function - Area intrusion detection (persons, vehicles)

Detecting the intrusion of a marked area in AI-enabled camera systems is a feature, which allows the automatic detection of unauthorized entry into a predefined area. This feature relies on algorithms, which can analyze the image and distinguish between people, vehicles and other objects, such as animals or trees.

Benefits of the intrusion detection feature:

  • Enhanced security: Intrusion detection provides early warning of unauthorized entry into a protected area, helping to prevent theft and vandalism.
  • Reduced false alarms: Unlike traditional motion detectors, which respond to any movement in the frame, intrusion detection eliminates false alarms caused by the movement of animals, tree branches or shadows.
  • Increased Monitoring Efficiency: Intrusion detection allows operators to monitor only relevant events, reducing fatigue and increasing monitoring efficiency.

How does intrusion detection work in a designated area:

  • Defining the area: The camera system operator defines an area in the image,
  • where entry is prohibited.
  • Image Analysis: Algorithms analyze the image and search for people, vehicles or other objects, that are in the defined area.
  • Intrusion Detection: If the algorithms detect an object in the defined area, the system sends an alert or triggers a recording or performs other additional actions, such as triggering an alarm...

Types of intrusion detection in a defined area:

  • Person Intrusion Detection: The system detects persons, who have entered the defined area.
  • Vehicle intrusion detection: The system detects vehicles that have entered the defined area.

Intrusion detection in a defined area is a valuable feature for CCTV systems that increases security, reduces false alarms and allows for more effective monitoring.

Conditions of operation:

The security camera must be positioned at a height of 2-4m. Tilt angle to the horizontal plane less than 30%. Detection distance 10-15m. There must be no other objects between the person or vehicle that would shield. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in incorrect operation of the detection functions.
