What to do when there are problems

1. Read the instructions!

Most of the defects that customers report to us are mainly based on a careless reading of the manuals that come with the products or are available for download. The manuals also contain a section on the most common faults and their solutions. He recommends not to overestimate your abilities and even if you think you can do everything playfully, it is a good idea to study the manuals and follow the recommended procedures.

2. Use common sense and the elimination method

If you encounter a glitch, it's a good idea to use common sense and the elimination method. By routinely replacing the same component, the easy way and the elimination method will get you to the stage where you are left with a likely defective or misconfigured component in your camera system. For example, one camera doesn't work, I swap it for another. That way I can check that my wiring and power supply are good. My recorder doesn't work, I'll try a different power supply with the appropriate specs to verify that it's not just the power supply that's faulty...etc.

3. Go through the whole wiring again

We're only human and we all make mistakes, so it's important to go over the entire wiring, leads and components again. It may happen that you accidentally make a mistake and then a minor error can affect the operation of the whole system. Therefore, we recommend that you carefully go through and possibly measure all connectors, wiring and components of the camera system. It is also a good help to reset the device to factory defaults (for recorders in the menu, for cameras the button on the cable or in the SD card slot, or using SearchTool).

4. Possible material fatigue

A camera system is a collection of devices that have been running continuously for a number of years. And as it happens in the world, nothing and nobody is here forever, so sometimes it is necessary to replace one of the components. For example, power supplies can have reduced performance if they are not properly selected and overloaded for a long period of time.

5. Keep older systems updated

Regularly update the firmware of all devices and software used on computers or mobile phones. After updating or if it is not available, perform a factory reset and re-set user configurations. Then test to see if the problem has been resolved. If unsuccessful, contact technical support for assistance.
