Installation of a camera system

The installation of IP camera systems is a bit more complex than AHD camera systems and requires some IT knowledge and special tools such as crimping pliers in certain types of wiring.

Installation of AHD system is very easy and no special tools and skills are required, therefore AHD technology is very popular among the general public. It is also the successor to all analogue camera systems and uses the same (mostly coaxial) wiring, so there is no need to change cabling and wiring to replace the old analogue system.

In this article, we present two ways to connect a camera system to the Internet for remote monitoring. Remote monitoring on PATRONUM is completely free and does not require any additional special paid services and equipment.

It is said that one picture is worth a thousand words, so here is an indicative wiring diagram of the IP camera system. The use of a PoE switch is preferable if the camera system contains multiple cameras.

All recording devices can work without a hard disk. You can watch live on monitors and TVs, as well as over LAN and the Internet. However, if you insert and connect it to the device, it creates a storage space for storing the recording.

All recording devices must be connected to a TV or monitor for configuration before they can be run for the first time. Most of the recording devices offered today are equipped with several types of connectors for connecting a display device. The most commonly used is the HDMI connector, followed by VGA or CVBS for old TVs and small monitors.

If the cameras are not equipped with a microphone directly, each camera system can be equipped with an external microphone for audio recording. The audio can be recorded together with the video, listened to locally, or remotely over the internet while watching a live broadcast.
